Akia,是2002环球推出的新人.虽然凭借单曲《california》成功在urban和跨界电台的点播率超过450万次,但在专集《atruprncss》发行后,却在专集销售低谷的时候歌手本人也消声灭迹.很失败的一张专集,专集坚持了一贯的传统r&b曲风,尽管akia的声线柔和甜美,但却没有个性.旋律抢足了akia本身的风头，歌曲本身成为震撼听众耳膜的因素，而不是akia，这就是所谓的歌红人不红.akia的《atruprncss》在旋律上成功了，在商业上却失败了。但并不影响我们听这张专集,听过后,无庸置疑,你会发现旋律确实很棒，网上对Akia歌红人不红的解释多数有以下三个原因：一是R&B在这首单曲推出后，已经不属于主旋律了，这张专辑中的歌曲坚持了一贯的传统的R&B曲风；二是AKia的歌声甜美，但是没有个性，吸引不了或是不能长期牵引年轻人的耳朵；三是她的唱片公司好像似乎估计大概也许可能不怎么向外推捧她，单曲早在2002年就已经推出了，可是在N久之后才在各个电台风靡，而且从她的CD封面上看，色调很暗，给人一种很旧的感觉。 AKIA总共就出了一张专集后就消失了,可以说他只出过6首歌.就在也没有出现过。歌曲的旋律是真的不错.
